Blogging To Create Content & Adding Value To Your Business

Blogging To Create ContentAs a marketing consultant, blogging to create content is not something that a lot of people associate with adding value to their business.

When we hear about content creation what a lot of people know about are things like creating information products, starting a newsletter, writing an e-book, or publishing articles.

All those things are valid and have their place, but when it comes to blogging, most of it gets lost in the technical. Most people know that blogging can drive traffic and get you higher rankings, but at the same time, people get lost when you start talking about plugins, SEO, page rank, link wheels, slugs and a lot of things the average business person has an aversion to.

  1. Either they don’t know about it at all.
  2. They don’t know how to be effective if they are aware of it.
  3. Or they simply don’t have time for it.

In fact, most business people I talk to would rather pay someone else to do it, because they don’t have time to figure it out – yet these same people will check and send email, post updates on Facebook and Twitter, share on LinkedIn, and do exactly what is required to blog already.

So where is the disconnect?

Perspective. Most business owners I speak to don’t relate blogging to something they already do every day. It’s that simple, even though the answer is a bit more complicated.

We all know that generating traffic, capturing leads, and converting to sales as the core to success of any business, but here’s the problem.

Getting from having a product to that first step of generating traffic is a big hassle for many reasons.

Many people are weary of “marketing” as a whole because of the amount of time spent trying to learn and figure out how to do those things is a vacuum that will your time, resources and money, and ultimately delay your progress.

In fact to many of my clients, it is a distraction. Unfortunately, blogging is lumped in with all of that marketing and this is a big part of the reason why most traditional businesses will hire a marketing team or outsource their marketing and someone else.

Value Creation: Blogging To Create Content

Overcoming that hump is as simple as relating to your prospect on business terms, however you have to go beyond talking about benefits and features to presenting something of value and in turn presenting the concept of blogging to create content as a strategic benefit and value creation.

Listen to what Anthony Iannarino (President and Chief Sales Officer for SOLUTIONS Staffing, a best-in-class staffing firm, and the Director of B2B Sales Coach & Consultancy), has to say about how important value creation and strategy is to your financial success.

Business acumen is the new sales acumen. Anthony Iannarino (thesalesblog.com)

Perspective. I relate blogging to create content to my clients from a strategic standpoint that eliminates the problems of time, resource, and money consumption, and show them actual results of blogging to create content and adding value to their business.

The Acumen: Blogging To Create Content

In the marketing world we all know that “content is king,” but in the world of traditional business, “value is king.”

Think about it. When you see commercials on television, hear announcements on the radio or see ads for most businesses, what do you see? Isn’t it all about how they are better than anybody else for you?

Car insurance companies always offer the lowest rates that are better than their competition. Cell phone companies talk about more coverage than their competitors. Television networks are always competing with each other with more appealing shows and “better” news coverage. Radio stations always talk about more music you want and more of it. Heck even Papa John’s slogan is “Better ingredients. Better pizza.”

Value in the business world is king because, just as that video said, level three and level four in value is strategy where the customer won’t do anything without you. That’s how you build a brand. That’s how you get repeat business. That’s how you beat out the competition.

But in order to create value, you have to create content to keep your customers engaged. You need to give them something to consume regularly and blogging to create content is by far the best engine to do that.

The Engine: Blogging To Create Content

Having a powerful blogging platform behind your business is one of the best ways create content, generate traffic, build a following of subscribers, share with the public, gain search engine exposure, get more leads and sales, and ultimately, if leveraged in the right way, take your business to the next level.

Perspective. Blogging to create content isn’t something that’s foreign to anyone that’s online. In fact, you are already a blogger, but probably don’t even know it.

Sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and others where you post updates and share your status are what we call micro-blogging sites. They are literally mini-blogs with a powerful social media aspect to them.

But for your business, you need something stronger and more focused – you need the right engine, and I recommend the very one that I am using (and you are reading on), the Empower Network blog platform.

Now, as a matter of integrity, I don’t recommend anything that I’m not using myself and I recommend this blog platform for a few reasons such as:

  1. More Traffic: As one of the top 500 sites on the globe and one of the top 200 sites in the US, the benefit of putting your business where the masses are is priceless.
  2. Better Leads: The authority of the Empower Network blog platform is being recognized by search engines and has an increasing Google PR (or level of authority) and ranks highers and carries more weight with search engine users so leads are generally better.
  3. More Sales: Combine more exposure and more value with the growing authority and the result is that you get more conversions to sales, but even more than that.
  4. It’s EASY: Empower Network was designed to eliminate the work of having to figure stuff out. There are no plugins to install, updates to do, and the system teaches you and shows you what to do to get the ranking and results.

But I don’t want you to take my word for it alone. Obviously you see that I am blogging to create content, but I’ll let someone else, who’s gone on to use the platform and who is blogging to create content himself as a way to make money and skyrocket his business.

The Bottom Line. If you want more traffic, if you want more leads, if you want more sales, and if you want to make more money, build a following, or grow your business, you need an engine that will drive you to where you want to be, and blogging to create content is one of the best ways to do so.

It’s a sound investment and you’ll agree when you see it in action for yourself.

Hear the stories and see the results… it just makes sense.
